A £9.5m redevelopment of the Coventry Transport Museum has seen a significant transformation of 12 of the museum’s galleries, bringing a refreshed look to the various showcases. The museum offers a captivating insight into how Coventry’s recent history has been shaped by the prominence of the motor and cycle industries in the local area.

“We have been working on plans for this project for over six years now, so it is brilliant to know that work is finally getting started. We will have world-class visitor attractions that will bring people from far and wide to find out about Coventry's proud motoring heritage."

- Gary Hall, chief executive of Culture Coventry

The upgraded museum, which is home to such exhibits as the Thrust 2 car which set a land speed record in 1983, now features a range of technology which has been implemented to educate visitors about Coventry’s transport history and enhance engagement in exhibits such as the Blitz Experience.
